Samulime Review

This attempt at a gi review comes to you from the urging of my crew. They think I have to much time on my hands and to many gi's. I'll start by mentioning that what caught my eye about the Samulime was the embroidery of the Samurai on the left sleeve. Once I got the gi I was impressed with the quality of the embroidery and stitching on this gi. The stitching reminds me of a Shoyoroll or Ouano Premium Competition gi. The Samulime, however, is not a light weight gi but I believe it's a gold weave. I could not get verification from Samulime but compared it to my other gold weave gi's. Sizing is standard A2 compared to A1 I wear in the previously mentioned gi's. What this means is that you will have to experiment with the wash and dry shrink method that many of us are used to. After the proper amount of shrinking the gi fits well and has endured many hours of training at MG's and Princeton Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Jacket- The jacket is one piece with contrasting blue stitching. The collar is about the same thickness as other gi's but is stiff. On the bottom of the collar is a small Samulime Armor Brazilian Flag patch. There is extra stitching under the armpit and bottom sides of skirt area. Running along the bottom front and back is Equipamento De Jiu Jitsu Brasileiro, The Samulime Company LTD. logo is well detailed and has maintained its shape after all the washings.

Pants-  The pants don't seem to shrink as much length wise but fit well and allows for good movement. The pants feel soft and as if they will last forever. They also have the contrasting blue stitching with extra thickness in the knee area. The right shin area has embroidered Samulime Equipamento De Jiu Jitsu. On both outside legs the same Equipamento De Jiu Jitsu Brasileiro tape is stitched.

Final- Well made gi that would serve for everyday training. Really enjoy the look and feel of the gi. And yes, the Samurai is the #1 selling point for me.
